  1. Do I need to have any martial arts experience to start?
    No experience needed! At Reigando, we specialize in beginner level training. Beginners will start on a personalized, self-defense focused program and can work toward a more competitive program if desired.
  2. Do I need any equipment to start?
    We have everything you need to get started at the Reigando. You only need a positive mindset and practical athletic clothing. A Gi and belt may be available to rent if given prior notic.
  3. What can I expect at my first lesson?
    For the first lesson, students can expect a self defense focused technical lesson in a safe, low-pressure environment. We will assess your level and develop a personalized program if there is interest in future lessons.
  4. What is the difference between a private and semi-private lesson?
    A private lesson will be a one-on-one lesson with the instructor while a semi-private lesson includes another student at the same time slot. We encourage you to bring a partner to learn and train as it is one of the easiest way to learn and master a technique.
  5. What is the dojo etiquette? – dojo or mat etiquette is an unspoken set of rules that users of the space are required to follow in order to ensure the best experience is had by all attending the lesson. Listed below is a set of basic rules all students must follow:

    Fingernails and toenails must be trimmed to a reasonable amount so they are not a danger to other partners.

    Appropriate clothing must be worn during the session. No hoodies or apparel that has zippers or buttons.

    Your body must be free from jewelry including watches, bracelets and piercings during the session.

    No shoes to be worn on the mats at anytime during the session, footwear must be stored outside the mat room.

    Do not participate in any lessons if you are displaying symptoms of any infection or contagious illness

    Dojo users are expected to be treated with respect by instructors and practitioners regardless of race, creed, religious beliefs, political affiliation, gender or sexual orientation.
